Ever since creating a stop motion video for a school project in the 3rd grade, I have been hooked. I took LEGOs and anything else I could find around the house and began creating more stop motion movies. From there I began introducing other techniques by creating home videos and travel films of the places we have been. I have learned a ton from creating those, and have even started creating videos for clients. I love the art of filmmaking because you are telling an inspiring story and trying to do so in the most impactful way possible. There are so many stories to be told, and film is a fantastic way to tell them.
My journey into photography started in 2019 when me and my dad went on a trip to New York together. We had gotten a "home phone" for me and my sister to use when we were home alone and for me in New York. It was an iPhone 8. I took photos of everything, having two goals in mind: One, take an epic photo. Two, capture the memory. I didn't understand all of the technical elements of photography I do today, but I still took great photos and fell in love with the art. One of them even won multiple awards in the PTA Reflections competition. I continued taking photos on my iPhone and getting creative with photography in every way I could think up. It wasn't until the summer of 2021 that I picked up my first real camera. It was my dad's Canon 60D. Nothing crazy, but it got the job done. I learned every aspect of how to technically use the camera so that I could focus on being creative and telling the story at hand. I practiced almost every day, honing in my craft. Today, I still use my phone every day to capture the moments in life that I'll never get back, and it reminds me why we take photos. To capture the everyday moments, mundane or epic, so we can hold on to them forever.
